This year Mr. Bill Deering was invited to the Hamburg Area Middle School as a motivational speaker on "Turning Disabilities into Abilities". As principal I had the opporturnity to observe Bill's presentation and witness the response of our students to his message. Throughout the forty five minute presentation, our students were attentive and engaged by Mr. Deering's message on perseverance, determination, and facing life's challenges. Additionally, student and teacher feedback immediately after the presentation was overwhelmingly positive and inspiring. It's with great pleasure for me to provide my highest recommendation for Mr. Bill Deering as a motivational speaker for middle school and high school students.
Mr. Deering's story about overcoming the disability of stuttering was told in a dramatic manner to which all students could relate. Additionally, his presentation addressed the themes of developing good character, setting personal goals, making good decisions, and anti-bullying. These are extremely important issues that all students face in our schools today. Bill's passion, enthusiasm, and genuine concern for students and his real life understanding of these challenges was evident from the first conversation we had pertaining to his presentation and overcoming adversity.
Bill Deering is motivated, passionate about his message, and committed to helping others. Additionally, he makes a great and lasting impression on his audience. I believe his story is one that all students and educators should hear. I am extremely pleased to recommend Mr. Bill Deering because he is an individual with whom it has been a pleasure to work and associate.
